5 Ingredient Choc Peanut Butter Slice

it is important to choose a good quality peanut butter, one that contains only peanuts is ideal. Peanut butter is a good source of plant based protein and contains roughly 7 grams of protein per 2 tablespoons. its is also a good source of magnesium, phosphorous, zinc, vitamin B3 and B6.
Peanut nutter also contains choline which is needed to produce acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter for memory, mood, muscle control, and other brain and nervous system functions. It is also required to produce phosphatidylcholine in the body which is vital for the integrity of our cell membranes and in methylation pathways.
Choline is also a vital nutrient during pregnancy as it is required to support healthy brain and spinal cord structure and function. It also improves transportation of many nutrients including DHA across the placenta.
Ingredients
1 cup natural peanut butter
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
3/4 cup coconut flour
100g 85% dark chocolate
1/2 cup coconut oil
Directions
Combine peanut butter, honey and coconut flour in a mixing bowl.
Transfer to a lined or silicone baking tray and smooth into an even layer. Pop it into the fridge.
Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate by placing chocolate pieces in the bottom of a heat-proof bowl.
Place bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Add the coconut oil and stir to combine.
Pour the chocolate mixture over the top of the peanut butter base. Smooth into an even layer.
Pop in the freezer for 2 hours or until the chocolate has set hard.
Slice into squares and store in the fridge or freezer. *If you prefer a firmer slice, store it in the freezer.
