Food is medicine: Immunity tonic

Autumn and winter are pretty much known as the cold and flu season. This year we have already been hit extra hard with the COVID-19 virus, so now is a perfect time to give your body that extra boost and strengthen and support your immune system.

Our immune system is pretty amazing. It consists of  is a complex network of cells and proteins that defends the body against infection. The immune system keeps a record of every germ (microbe) it has ever defeated so it can recognise and destroy the microbe quickly if it enters the body again. A healthy diet, adequate sleep and exercise are all factors that strengthen your immune system but there is something else you can do to keep your immune system strong and healthy.

Incorporating immune supportive foods into your diet may help boost your immune system and prevent the effects of pathogens (germs) before they cause illness.

This immunity tonic is packed full of immune supportive foods which have a long history of traditional use to help fight off the common cold and flu.
