Lemon Tahini Dressing

Once you make this sauce, you will want to have tahini sauce on everything! It’s lemony, garlicky and good with everything. This vegan dressing is great on salads, roast vegetables, and grains. You will never want to go back to store-bought dressing!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini

  • 1 clove of crushed fresh garlic or 1/4 tsp of garlic powder

  • The juice of half a lemon

  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper 

  • 1/4 cup warm filtered water

Directions

  1. Add tahini, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper into a small mixing bowl and whisk until combined. 

  2. Add water a little at a time, continuing to whisk, until you have a creamy, pourable sauce.

  3. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

  4. Store in a glass jar in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.

Unhulled tahini is made from the whole sesame seed & is higher in nutrients compared to hulled tahini. Tahini is an excellent vegan source of protein (2 tbsp = ~5g protein) and is also rich in calcium and iron. It is also a rich source of methionine an essential amino acid, which aids in liver detoxification.
