Sour Cherry, Cacao & Coconut Protein Balls

An easy go-to snack, that is quick and simple to make. This recipe can be changed to suit any flavour preference. All you need is a food processor and a creative mind!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup My Hemple Divine Vanilla Protein powder

  • 2 tbsp cacao

  • 1 tbsp rice malt syrup

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter or tahini

  • 1/4 cup sour cherries

  • 1/ 4 cup chia seeds

  • 1/4 cup cashews

  • Desiccated coconut 

*Ratios may vary slightly. Add more dry or wet ingredient to get the desired consistency.

Directions

  1. Blitz all ingredients in a food processor until the mixture is combined (it should just hold together and not to be too wet or dry).

  2. Roll into balls and roll through desiccated coconut &/or sesame seeds.

Sour cherries contain the antioxidant compound anthocyanin, this gives cherries their deep red colour. Research has shown this compound assists in reducing inflammation & uric acid levels in the blood. Antioxidants quercetin &  ellagic acid boost antiviral & antibacterial properties.
